Most interesting to Will, was the 4700 year old circular altar uncovered in the ruins. There were chicken and goat bones in the altar that helped the archeologists date this Canaanite site. There was also evidence of human sacrifice here. The 28 layers of ruins at the site point to 28 conquests and rebuildings of the fortress.
